🔥 Castle Rock Fire Service Explorer Program 

The Castle Rock Fire Service Explorer Post 107 is a hands-on, worksite-based program for young men and women who have completed the eighth grade and are between the ages of 14 and 18. It’s designed for youth interested in a fire service career and offers real-world training in firefighting, emergency medical services (EMS), and various rescue operations.

🧠 What You’ll Learn

• Firefighting, EMS, and rescue skills (ice, water, rope, hazardous materials)

• Physical training, teamwork, and leadership

• Ride-alongs with on-duty fire crews

• Community service at events like MDA fundraisers and memorials

⚠️ Important Considerations

This program offers exposure to the real-life demands of emergency services. Explorers may witness traumatic events such as serious injuries or fatalities. While you’ll be supervised at all times, firefighters are not counselors, and the program is not designed to provide emotional or psychological support.

🔴 Applicants should seriously consider whether they are ready—mentally and emotionally—for this kind of experience.

📝 How to Join Explorer Post 107

✅ Eligibility

• Must be 14–18 years old

• Must have completed 8th grade

• Must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA

📅 Step 1: Observer Stage

• Attend the Open House on May 6th at 301 Malibu Street, Castle Rock, CO 80109

• Observe two Tuesday meetings in May, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM (1700–2000)
  These sessions will help you understand the program's structure, expectations, and time commitment.

✍️ Step 2: Application

• After observing two meetings, fill out and submit the application and required forms

• Participate in a candidate interview

🧯 Step 3: Acceptance & Gear

• If accepted, you’ll receive:

  • An Explorer Task Book

  • Bunker Gear (helmet, SCBA mask, hood, coat, pants, gloves, boots, etc.)

🎓 Ongoing Requirements

• Maintain a 2.5 GPA

• Uphold good attendance and participation

• Commit to learning, service, and teamwork
